Celebrating Love, Community, and Progress: Northport’s Annual Pridefest in the Park Returns

As we approach the third Annual Northport PRIDEFEST in the Park, let’s take a look back at the success of the previous two years! We’ve been fortunate to be on the executive board for all three years of Northport Pridefest. Last year, Driven Media was able to co-sponsor, publicize, and photograph the month-long celebration. Northport Pridefest began with the Pride Flag Raising Ceremony held annually at Northport Village Hall.
The atmosphere throughout Pridefest is always warm, welcoming, and brings residents together in the spirit of diversity, inclusion, and unity. The momentous event would not be possible without the Incorporated Village of Northport volunteers, and all of the other community partners and sponsors that support.
In addition to celebrating acceptance, love, and spreading the message that all are welcome here, Northport Pridefest in the Park also has a huge impact on the local Northport business community. The downtown area is flooded with both Northport residents and attendees from neighboring communities, who participate in the festivities and patronize the Northport shops.
All kinds of businesses – from restaurants and galleries to specialty shops – experience boosted foot traffic and genuine customer engagement, which is a true testament to Northport Pridefest in the Park's positive impact on the local Northport economy.
Northport Pridefest is presented by the Incorporated Village of Northport. It is produced by Schramm Marketing Group with the support of Driven Media, as well as a corps of local volunteers, and the promotional support of local media, and our valued sponsors & contributors.
The mission of Northport Pridefest is to celebrate Pride history, to embrace the diverse segments within the LGBTQ+ community, to inform the LGBTQ+ community about health and social services available to them, to educate the community-at-large about LGBTQ+ issues, and to foster mutual understanding, to empower people to stand up for equal rights, and to inspire love and respect for one another.
This year, Northport Pridefest will kick off with the ceremonial Pride flag-raising at Northport Village Hall, hosted by Mayor Donna Koch, on Friday, May 30th 12:00 pm. The Pride flag will fly over Village Hall and the Police Headquarters throughout the month of June. One of the most anticipated events of the month, Northport Pridefest in the Park 2025, will be held on Saturday, June 14th, 2025, from 12:30 pm - 4:30 pm at Northport Village Park. Attendees can expect to once more enjoy the music, stroll among the vendor tents, explore Northport’s many specialty shops, galleries, antique stores, restaurants, wine stores, brewery, the museum, and experience all that scenic Northport has to offer.
Key Fundraising Events of 2025:
This year’s Northport Pridefest has a lot of other fun and exciting events happening within the Northport community to look forward to! On May 9th from 5:00 pm-9:00 pm at Sand City Brewery, join us for the second annual Pints for Pride, where every beer purchased with a drink ticket goes towards supporting Northport Pridefest in the Park. On May 17th at 12:00 pm come to the annual Northport Pridefest Paint & Sip at RB Homes Realty. It is a tented, outdoor event that includes brunch bites, wine, easel, and all paint materials. Tickets are sold online at www.northportpridefest.com On May 29th at 7:00 PM, attend the first-ever Pridefest Multi-Faith Prayer Service at Northport Episcopal Church.
On May 30th at 12:30 pm attend the Northport Pride Exhibit Opening Reception at the Northport Historical Society, which takes place directly after the annual Pride Flag-Raising. On June 6th at the Northport Public Library is hosting the Art of Belonging exhibit presented by NIOT Northport. This exhibit fosters a strong sense of community, inclusivity, and connection among the artists and all of those who experience the exhibit.
